Why is Testing
Necessary ?
The Electricity
at Work Regulations of 1989, which came into force 1st April 1990
states a need to maintain a regular program of inspection and testing
of all electrical equipment and systems.
The designated duty holder, foreman, or managing director has a legal
obligation to take all necessary precautions to prevent death or injury
from electricity at work.
Failure
to comply with EWR 1989 could subject the duty holder to prosecution.
What
Needs Testing ?
All
items of electrical equipment in the workplace which plug into a socket,
i.e. computers, kettles, fridges, power tools etc.
